HOW TO CARE FOR WINTER SKIN

Your wardrobe changes from season to season, so should your skin care routine. Its important that we take the necessary steps to keep our skin soft and flake free. We provided some of our favorite tips for the winter for every skin type.
Tips for avoiding winter-dry skin this season:
  1. Avoid using harsh peels, masks, and alcohol-based toners or astringents. These dry your skin out more and can leave your skin flakey
  2. Use face masks that are “deeply hydrating” rather or more often than clay-based, which tends to draw moisture out of the face. If you properly moisturize after, this is OK.
  3. Use a face serum in addition to your daily moisturizer
  4. Avoid hot showers and limit the time spent in them. Hot water strips your skin of its natural oils. Use a moisturizer before and after your showers, keep the temp of showers "warm". We like to use coconut oil before and after.
  5. Look for lotions containing “humectants,” a class of substances (including glycerine, sorbitol, and alpha-hydroxy acids) that attract moisture to your skin and keeps your skin as hydrated as possible.
  6. Switch up your face wash for a cleansing milk or mild foaming cleanser.
  7. DRINK MORE WATER. Water is a great way to keep your skin hydrated, glowing, and flake-free.
